buying a chevy cobalt over priced?
they claim the big 3 are offering really good deals. but i don't see it.
i saw these guys advertise on TV thought i would look 'em up

they don't seem any better priced then any one else actually they look higher.
my wife bought her last car new in 04 loaded chevy cavalier, no alloy wheels or spoiler.
although i bought both at the junk yard. but neither are on the car.
but has power windows,mirrors,ac..
we paid $12,000 new in 04... as far as i can tell a cobalt is just a newer version of a cavalier. why the hell are they so expensive?

all i have ever had is used trucks.... but my wife on the other hand...
i'm lucky to put her off as long as i have from getting a new car.
if you look they have a cavalier i think it was a 02' with about 15,000 miles for $7,000
still more then i wanna pay but seem to be a better deal.
we know we want a standard this time around. i'm so flippen sick of auto's!

well the money really comes out when you look at the cobalt ss. that's the kicker. the new ones that are turbocharged are around 23k but we almost bought a brand new one bone stock like nothing in it for 12k i think. it's just a better look than the cavalier and there are different specs that are improved. and they can get 32mpg unless you get the SS. which i think with the supercharged cobalts you can get them to close to 260-270hp for around 2 grand.(i'm not 100%sure anymore. it's been awhile since i've looked) and there is also a cobalt SS 4 door that isn't supercharged or anything it just has a 2.4L engine which is a little bigger than the normal 2.2L(or 2L. once again it's been awhile.) over all the car is a good buy. however alot of dealers will try and over charge on them.

you should be able to get one of those for 17 somethin. idk why they went up in price so much from when i was looking at them and i may have been wrong on that 12k price. but we also may have been looking at 07's that were still new and on the lot. ohhhh yeah. and those prices were during the GM employee pricing sale thing. so yeah they were lower.

We just bought my daughter a Cobalt SS and we paid around 19k for it. Her car is completely loaded. I could imagine the Cobalt SS that is on page 2 of that list you could get for around 17k. The thing about the lower priced cars it the markup is not that much. or atleast nothing near what the mark up is on our trucks.
