2006 6.0 glow plug issue and tool
Hey guys,
I have a 2006 6.0 that recently threw a glow plug #2 circuit code. Ealier today i changed the fuel pressure regulator in my air dog due to fuel pressure fluctuations. I found it had a bad o ring on replacement. after replacing and starting truck my pressure rose to 80 psi. I quickly adjusted it down to 64-65 psi. I dont know if this could have caused a glow plug failure.
I went and bought a couple glow plugs and started watching videos on how to replace them. It was recommended to spray some lubricant and wiggle a bit, then it sit before attempting.
while doing this i noticed the wire loom is separated from the connector slightly to where i can see wires. I dont want to try to pull it without the puller tool. upon seeing the wires, i am assuming i need to replace the whole harness on drivers side. Is this a must if I see wires?
I tried 3 local parts houses including Napa and oreillys and its a special order tool. Any idea where i could find this tool in stock? I read it was 80-100 at the dealer. Anything else I should look for while doing the r & r or any helpful tips from anyone to make it easier? I cant remove the wheel well because fender flares. I have the air cleaner and degas tank already out of the way. Thanks for any help or info.
