Does anybody clean theirs on a regular basis? Im about to clean my IAT so I thought I would ask about the MAP.... JOIN NOW TO REMOVE TRACER

Map Sensor
Does anybody clean theirs on a regular basis? Im about to clean my IAT so I thought I would ask about the MAP.

Sha... I mean Dr.Evil, cleaning both of these is easy. The hardest part is getting them out without burning your hands - IE: make sure the block is cool!!
I kneel on the battery / fan housing and put a hand on the valve cover and the other with a head lamp on is used to reach and fish out the sensors. Clean them only with sensor approved cleaner and not some carb cleaner or for heavens sake not something worse like paint thinner etc. If you can remove your wheel well cover or figure out how to do it from underneathe then be my guest. I run an exhause brake so cleaning of the IAT in necessary every 10k......I also did the MAP once and it was clean so I havent messed with it since then

I threw out the stock fuel filter canister, you can't even imagine how much room it opens up to work on that side of the engine. Now I wanna move the batteries back to the tool box so I can sit inside the engine bay like my old gasser trucks. maintenance was a snap on those.

wow thanks for the links.i was whondering about cleaning the map,i went and baught a new map sensor,installing today.i heard the new one is improved,ill let you know if i see a difference in drivability.i think it will be the same.yeah no carb cleaner for me.ill use electronics cleaner
i havent gotten the old map sensor off yet  .its the original from 1999.im told its a 1 1/2 socket i havent been able to get a socket yet,didnt want to buy a whole set.when i get the old map sensor off ill up this the new sensor i have a socket for the new map sensor 1 1/16,ill clean the iat sensor when i get the old map sensor off and replaced. hey guys found the socket.the older style map sensor is 1"1/8 the newer style is 1"1/16 hope this helps someone.so far ive noticed better throttle response with the new map sensor,i didnt get time to clean the iat sensor ill do that some other time,thanks for the links and imfo guys.
