Default True or not???

So i sold my 06 3500 a couple months ago and bought a damn 7.3L ford and now im sick of it because its a damn POS and im getting back into a cummins this week but my buddy that works at a car lot told me to get a 03-05 dodge and not an 06 and up because they use cheaper injectors in those years?? i have had an 05 and 06 and had to replace injectors on both so is this true?? My dads 04.5 with 175,000 on it has never been even touched and his 06 has had injectors at 90,000 and then i think again at 160,000 so it makes me wonder if this is true. I have seen a lot of 03-05 for sale really resonable and am about to buy an 04 6 speed 140,000 miles on it crew cab long box 4wd for 17,000 and wondering if thats the way to go or do i just get an 06 and not worry about it.

Not even a little bit true, get you an early build date 06' and put a good 2 micron absolute filtration system on it, and drive the effin' wheels off of it.

Only thing that changed on the injectors from 03-07, was in 04.5 they went to 3 events from 2.

MY 2cents: 7.3 was a good motor! Fuel milage sucked! Injectors run on oil pressure BAD! Did I mention the cam sensor, oil pressure sensor, turbo and fuel pump leaks etc etc....
Then Ford took the stupid pill and put the 6.0 boat anchor in their trucks been going down hill since then!

Agreed on that last part.

I dont know, my family has always had good luck out of 7.3's. Pawpaw has a 96, and two great uncles have 97's. All get around 20-21 hwy. Pawpaw and one uncle have nearly 200k on their, no problems, and other uncle has nearly 400k with only minor fixes.

The 7.3 was the old international ENG and was a good ENG. Put a banks blower and it was one good truck.
