got a problem
i have a 06 dodge 2500 24 valve 5.9 cummins. when i start the truck sometimes it will just turn off like you turned the key off , starts right back up and runs fine but throws a 2509 code at me. ecm/pcm power signal intermittent, i read on here that can be caused by bad batteries, so, i put 2 new 1000 cc amps. still does it. checked and cleaned all grounds still does it,. yesterday i was driving turned left at a traffic light and it shut down, first time while driving, truck only has 36000 miles , like new. the temp has been about 20 degrees and it cycled the grid heater 13 times yesterday morning it pulls voltage down to about 10 volts. i took to local dodge dealer and they say its the fan clutch, is this possible ? any help would be greatly appreciated

was not the fan clutch ,dealership replaced it and 12 hours later did the same thing so saturday morning i removed ground cables from batteries scraped the post and clamp with terminal cleaner, then placed a 6 guage ground wire i made from the ground lug on grid hater direct to negative clamp on battery and so far so good , i'll post if it did'nt work when it screws up or if it don't i will post in a couple weeks

still not fixed @#$#@! im really starting to wish i"d have kept my ford , i did notice a new symtom , when it dont do it ,is when i start the truck and it starts at 1000 rpm , when it does stall it starts at 700 rpm then after 2 or 3 minutes it speeds up to 1000 rpm then runs for a few minutes then shuts down and has 2509 code

Well its doesnt sound like a sensor because a sensor shouldnt shut the motor off completly like that. I would guess that its a bad ground somewhere. A bad ground will throw all kinds of crazy codes. It could either be a bad ground battery cable or you could have a bad ground in the ECM. Especially if you have an outboard ECM.

i agree does'nt sound like sensor ,unless ambiant air cause like i stated most of the time when i start it cold the truck starts and runs at 1000 rpm out the gate, but this morning the outside temp was up to about 30 , has been about 20. when i started it the idle was @700 rpm , ran about 2 minutes at 700 then raised to 1000 rpm on its own, i was in garage not even near the truck , it ran at that rpm for about 3 to t5 minutes then turned off, restarted and check engine light was on code was p2509 but it has done this even if i raise the idle using cruise control i removed and cleaned or replaced all grounds i'll let you know what stealership has to say

its supposed to idle higher if its just sitting there idling for a while, its supposed to help the injectors or something, so thats not a symptom of anything. sometimes mine will start in high idle sometimes it doesnt
if you have a pressure box or anything that you recently plugged in, try taking it out and see if that cures it
you should fill out your sig.
