Default Check engine light??? Got me baffled

It is about 30 degrees here in ohio. So I let my truck run for about 5 minutes before i took off. Got about 2 miles down the road and I was accelerating at about 50-75% throttle and the rpms bottomed out for a second and bounced all over the place and the check engine light came on.. Never noticed any hessitation or lack of throttle. Stopped at advance auto to have the code checked and there werent any codes so he reset it and the check engine light went out. Anyone have any ideas??

You may want to go try someone else with a OBD Scanner and see if they have a good one not a cheapy. But You may have had just a hiccup with fuel dilivery or a lil bad fuel. Be nice to know what the code was.

No problems at all as far as i can tell. runs fine no obvious leaks of any kind... like you said it might just have been a little hiccup... is the tachometer cable operated off the tranny? just thinking that it might have possibly skipped a tooth or something??

No the tachnometer run of the cam and crank sensors. Then your spedo runs of a sensor in your rear diff and one in the tranny.
