NV4500 Help!!
I had a rebuilt NV4500 installed last week. I told the trans. shop to check the clutch, t.o. bearing, pilot bearing, ect. to make sure it was all in good shape before installing the trans. they said everything looked fine. After getting the truck back it was hard to get in gear, I thought since it was a fresh build it may take it alittle bit to loosen up. I've got 1000 miles on it now, and still hard to get in gear. It's a Napa brand HD single disk clutch (3 months old), new hyd. assembly form dealer, AMSoil Manual trans. fluid. The last trans had started getting hard to shift thats when I put the Hyd. assembly on, I could never see that it helped, but the trans junked out about 2 weeks after the hyd. assembly. This is my work truck I need it right. Any suggestions is greatly appreciated.

How many miles on the truck? if I remember correctly there is a pivot ball that the clutch fork rides on. It can be worn down enough for it not to engage the clutch fully. Seen it happen before, fellow swapped all new parts and it turned out to be the pivot ball. When you push the clutch in is it grinding or just hard to push into gear ?

The truck has 205,000 miles on it. When you push the clutch in, sometimes you can hear something, not really a grinding sound though. I don't notice it everytime but not to say it isn't, I just might not be hearing it. But the gears are indeed hard to get in.
Would that make it be hard to get in any gear though?
I talked to a guy and he told me something to try this morning by removing the slave cylinder and using a steering wheel puller to see if it's the slave cylinder or something else. When I pulled the slave out I noticed that only one of the two straps had broke that holds the push rod. I broke the other strap and put the slave back in. i hope this will fix my problem, find out next week.
