Default Keeps Jumping in and out of overdrive

i have a 93 w a 518 automatic trans, and for what ever reason it just decided to act up on my this weekend, the trans has been rebuild at somepoint in its life and is very clean, and just got a service a month ago, for what ever reason yesterday it would not shift into overdrive and when it did it would pop right back out into 3rd, i know the tps controls 3rd to 4th gear shift, any ideas?

Like said, the TPS is either bad or needs to be adjusted. Does your speedo still work?

Its very simple. Unplug tps, plug wires of tps delete into the connector in the order shown in the directions. Take it out on the road and turn the pot until overdrive kicks in at the desired speed.

That sounds more like the VSS to me. There is a sensor on the side of your tranny, that's the VSS. Sometimes if you just unplug it and clean it everything works fine, but it may need to be replaced.
