That is a steal for that truck! Do you have a big torque wrench available to do the kingpins? I did my driver side recently and it torqued to 550 ft-lbs.

so i got the kdp kit in on the weekend along with a new water pump new radiator hoses and fan clutch so while i had the radiator out i took it and had it cleaned out and the lower hose fitting needed to be resoldered we also pulled the oilpan cleaned it out and resealed it we also changed the rear main seal that fell apart when we touched it i don't think i will ever change the oilpan gasket without at least lifting the engine a few inches first getting the pickup tube unbolted and reinstalled was not fun
then on monday night we got the transmission in refilled all the fluids and started the truck i put in gear and nothing happened so we disconnected the shifter linkage we were then able to find neutral and all the forward gears but no park or reverse it was late so we went home now tomorrow night we want to figure out the problem i do know the truck the transmission was in had front end damage from a accident but it had only been on the road for a month or two after a full restoration and the transmission was built during the resto so does anyone have a idea on what could be wrong the only idea we have at this point is that the shift lever on the trans slipped in the accident and we can't get park or reverse because the lever is hitting the case |
