I'm having trouble finding a fuel leak on the drivers side of the engine at the rear.
Also, the tranny won't shift on it's own until I get to 6o or better and won't stabilize
at a speed then. I can shift the tranny with the excellerator though, but not very easily.

 

Well Drivers side of engine is where everything fuel related is so it could be liftpump, fuel filter seal, water in fuel sensor seal, the bowl seal on the fuel heater, or a line since you said rear I would rule out IP. I would just get under there with it runnin with a good flashlight and see if you can pinpoint it. Probably the rubber lines that go from the hard lines on the frame to the hard lines on the engine.

 

You could have a pin hole in a fuel line like tiremann said that might only leak when running. And as for a the tranny is it hard to find gears in it when you shift it manually

 

I had a pin hole on one of the fuel lines that runs behind the fuel filter. There are posts and pictures on this site somewhere.
