my instruments and a/c don't work
I have a 1998 12 valve and my wife and uncle are taking a trip across country right now to NC to get set up for when I come home from deployment. Apparently it just started raining and the instruments (speedometer, tachometer, fuel, oil, ect) stopped working and according to them the A/C died as well. Right now the Engine light, ABS light, seat belt light, and brake light are lit up. Prior to this the engine had to be pulled to replace the timing cover gasket and I'm fairly certain that either A) They didn't plug everything back in all the way or correctly or B) A wire shorted because of the weather.
They want to replace the cluster itself but I told them to hold off. Does anybody have any advice or has anybody had this happen to them? If so, how did you fix it? Any help would be greatly appreciated since I can't be there myself to fix the problem.
FYI- Everything else on the truck is running perfect. No smoke, radio still works, lights still work on both the inside and outside of the truck, the cluster still lights up.
