Default Oil leak

I just replaced my pushrod cover gasket. What a job that was. But it fixed the majority of my oil leak. Now I think I have a slight leak from my oil pan gasket. Will I have to lift the motor to replace it?

most likely yes, ive neve done it but in order to get that oil pan out you have to jack the motor up. im wondering if its posible to drop the pan the few inches you have and somehow get a new gasket in there?? shop quoted me 800 for an oil pan job on my 01 cummins

I wouldn't pay to have it done... but I have access to two shops and three lifts. If I was going to do it on the ground in my driveway -or even on jack stands in my garage for that matter- I'd probably be getting prices. I'm not saying it's a piece of cake, because it isn't, but IMO $800 is a little on the high side.

I have access to a garage and lift. I'm going to have someone help me do it.

yes you have to jack up the motor a ways unless you have trans and flywheel housing off, it is possible to get pan to drop down a few inches but its pretty impossible to get the pan and block clean I tried this and it leaked more than before so I ended up doing it twice but I you think u wanna try it be my guest maybe ull have better luck than I did

Yeah ... hate to say it but its best to pull trans and lift engine up at least 6-10 inches ... tkae off back valve cover and valve train and you should be able to clear the pan that way ..
