Default Performance upgrades!!???

My truck is mostly stock other than 75hp injectors and new beefed up towing transmission with bigger solenoids and torque converter. Need some performance upgrades to get some get up and go. What's the best way to start building. Governor springs? Delivery valves? Or what?

try a new over flow valve. you could be loosing fuel pressure and getting your pop.

Okay I'll try that first. It's only on a free rev and it smokes somewhat white smoke sometimes. I know 12 valves do but I was think ofv was bad to. They aren't pricey so I'll try one

Your most likley having a fuel starvation if it pops and smokes ... or you have an air intrustion issue somehwhere pre lift pump ...

As to the timing .. dont start if you dont want to know how much it "COULD" cost ya ... if you need a bit more power , slide your fuel plate and the AFC housing forward a bit and 1-3 clicks on the star wheel should make it more responcive , if your planning on hauling massive loads ..... OPEN WIDE ...

To do a Cummins right .. there are manny ways but only a few that work in the real world ... Ask me how i found out .... I will have 5K in my engine alone after my new turbo get in ... A LOT of people tell you stuff and never give you the what could happen in the end .....

If you go tinkering with timing just know .. you HG is waiting for you and you WIll have to do it sooner than you want to .... adding more fuel = Heat in the cylinders, which .. Yes adds power but means higher Egt's as well .... and cylinder perssure and the fore drive pressure out of the head and into the turbo which in high amounts will cause the cylinder pressure to blow back into the cylinder from the turbo end and then you have the influx of more "BOOSTED" air and you end up with an extremely high cylinder pressure and a stretched head bolts and then a POPED HG !!!!! .... guess how i found out ????

If you would like to do this the right way and you have the know how ... Good ... if now ... dont touch a good thing ...

Thanks for the response man. Helped me out. It only pops on free rev. If I have a load or just driving around and stomp on it then it doesn't pop. Only when I free rev it. I'm not looking to gain hundreds of hp just a couple to make it get up and go nice. It does fine now hauling stuff on the farm but I'd like a little more.
