Default swaping motors and transmissions?

i have a 94 dodge ram 1500. with a good body but junk tranny. but i have a 1994 12 valve cummins motor complete. with a 545 allison transmission behind it. thats it. i can buy better axles if needed. im not hauling anything big or anything. not going to do any performance stuff until way later. what kind of transfer case with i need? what about motor mounts? what about the four wheel drive shifter. this tranny doesnt have one. or anything else ill have to worry about? thanks!

I believe the motor mount brackets are the same for all second gens regardless of being gas or diesel. You just need the second gen isolators to bolt to your motor and they should fit the frame on your half ton. As far as transfer cases probably a divorced 205 would be your best bet they are a little expensive but i'm not sure if there is great availability of married transfer cases for the 545. Make sure you get a divorced 205 dodge or chevy if you are running a pass side diff front axle. Maybe someone else knows about married t cases for the 545.

I have 2 205's for sale ..... both chevy units ... both in good shape ..... can buy the divorced yoke input kit .... cheep ... then you will need a beefy *** crossmember to mout this beast too also ..( totally custom there ) ... ( about 235lbs ) then ur new drive shafts .... keep in mind you will need to figure out drive shaft angles and such ............ hope your ready for some real homework my friend ... Subscribed
