Default Help me!!

My boss offered to sell me his 97 12 valve 5 speed 4x4 with 240000 miles For 6500 but I need help knowing how to talk my parents into letting me. I do a fair amount of hauling for a kid so this is pretty important.

I don't think any of us know better than you will how your parents need to be approached with this?

You will have to justify the means with realistic talk .... don't tell them you waning to make it a tractor pull truck .... just make it all make sense to buy .... like if they ever broke down you could tow them home on a trailer ... or you could haul landscaping materials for them ... or others ... and the engine and drive train will last at least 500K if well maintained which could last years and by that time you can afford to buy a new engine or even a new truck ......that's what I tell my wife .....

yeah .... just tell them th annual fuel you could be saving ... tuck can pay for its self in one year if you get some side work with it... heck my truck has 4.10 gears and I get 17-19 mpg .... my IDI for gets 19 freeway and 16 city .... and oddly it gets real good MPG when towing I towed on level mostly ... from Centralia Washington to Tacoma ... averaged 21 mpg with my Monte Carlo on the trailer ....

Yeah my little Toyota I have for a daily driver averages about 20 but when I have to haul something I take my dads f250 with a 460. Last long trip I took in it from Blackfoot ID to Bruneau ID with 5 horses I averaged about 5-7 mpgs

I usually get 10-15mpg pulling 5 ton worth of trailer, depending on how steep the hills are and how many starts and stops. There are more free MPG mods I haven't done yet too. It's hard to beat a 12V for power and efficiency!

GET A JOB AND PAY FOR IT YOURSELF. That's what men do. just sayin. maybe your boss can work something out with you. and you can pay on the truck whiles he keeps it parked until its enough balance for you to use it.

oh I already have enough saved up to buy it after i sell my current truck the problem is the title is in my parents name and they think buying a new truck would be a waste of that money but I'm burning it all up in fuel for the f250
