WTB/T stock Cummins Holset turbos

Looking to buy or trade :tu: stock Cummins Holset turbos and downpipe flanges. Bolt-on and go condition only, please.

Won't guarantee I'll buy every one...I'm looking for sources for reasonably priced turbos for my students. We've had good luck with the Holset on gas engines, and I imagine there are a few lying around....

PM or email rkaufman@wyotechstaff.edu

Thanks in advance

The wastegate on mine is stuck, and there is oil inside the air intake area, so I may be needing a replacement/upgrade soon.

Nope, HY35. The HX35 was on the manuals.

What difference is there, and what would change if you put a HX35 on the automatic? Is oil on the front (air intake side) an issue or is that a signal of impending doom?

Lil Red Express 12-21-2010 08:07 PM

should not have any oil in the intake side unless you have an oiled air filter. Over oiling will make a mess on the intake. If you don't have an oiled air filter then yes your turbo is on its way out.

Boosted Cowboy 12-21-2010 09:02 PM

Oh great, I don't run a oiled filter, and the oil is coming from the turbine wheel edge and the trail of oil runs down towards the front of the truck and towards the air filter box. So I'm guessing there is a seal of some sort gone, worn or just leaking against the flow of air. It's not a lot of oil, just one drip running out. Nothing in the end of the hose even, just from the innermost lip edge and running down.:argh: What next!

Lil Red Express 12-21-2010 10:11 PM

Yap seal is gone
