pulling with samrty s06 tnt r

Hi guys having trouble with my truck shifting into 4th gear when truck pulling. It is a 2007 5.9 and i have a built dtt tranny in it. I set the high rpm to on in the programmer and it will turn about 3500 until the tranny shifts. The bad part is with the overdrive off button turned on it still hits 4th gear. Wanted to see if anyone else had this problem and if trying to ground out the overdrive solinode is the answer. Not sure how to do that but just looking for some help. Thanks :humm:

What tranny are you running? 68 or 48. Sorry im not up to date on the newer trucks. I have an 04.5. It was things like this that made me switch to nv4500 for pulling.

On my 48re i had all sorts of problems with no shift, early shift, and late shift on the track. The problem with the 48re is the factory governor pressure solenoid cant handle the higher line pressures. There is a fix. People are using a gm solenoid. You can get the conversion from transmissioncenter.net but i gave up and swapped in a nv4500. You also might try different torque settings on your smarty

I have the 48. Still trying to figure out the wiring for the overdrive solenoid. I think I am going to ground it out.:argh:

thats the gear of choice round here for CR's ... works pretty darn well to

cummin_un_glued 07-24-2012 08:46 PM

that with 4000rpm and a decent 33" tire works pretty good or if your up in the 700hp plus range 3rd locked

how does one of them work and can i get the switch from u guys. Also now i got it to run only in 3rd gear but when the TC locks its to low on rpms. I watch the tach lately and in second gear not locked it runs to 3600 and then 3rd is 3200 and when the TC locks in 3rd it drops to 2800 which is to low. I have the motor set up for 4000 and the computer wont let it run to 4000.I am running stock size tires. It also is stock for turbo injectors and injection pump. I am running an air dog 150 and smarty. Any info would help alot thanks

Have you tried 2nd locked. You may not have the power for third if you did you wouldnt drop in rpms. You also need the 4000rpm tune for more speed then 2nd locked will be perfect.

Hey guys I am now running a tc lock switch I put in last week and we pulled in 2nd gear with the converter locked. It was alot better. It turned 3500 rpms and it had a bunch of momentum. I am running the stock size tires which are 265/70/17. I am afraid if I put 33/12.50/17 on it she may not pull the rpms high enough to carry the momentum. Any thoughts on that would be helpful. Thanks guys. Also thank you dustin from Torque Diesel for all the help.:tu:

was just watching your videos MoPower05. I know the gray dodge JP truck. I have talked to him about some pulling up here in new york. Its a small world!:tu:

cummin_un_glued 08-05-2012 09:59 PM

no problem man. if your getting that much rpm out of it mid track then the 33's will be fine. with the stock cam your actually starting to fall off the back side of it at that rpm and its just going to pull back down where its making peak power at.

text me tomorrow i got a couple questions about your truck. might be able to help you out a little more.
