3/8 cross bolts
ok just curious as to why they are required? what purpose do they serve? i know on turbine engines that if they come apart it is small pieces would think the same for a turbo.

they are trying to catch wheels. our club wants 1/2 inch. :tu:
Personally I don't think they would do anything to stop it if the wheel comes appart. But If somehow the hole wheel came off it may slow it down
yeah. these rules started years a go
We have to run them as well, I just dont see the point
I just don't want to do it on my daily driver. if i had a dedicated puller then ok
i see our rules say 3/8 bolts also. i thought they were 1/2 inch.:s:
thay are to keep the wheel from coming out and going at the crowd at a high rate of speed. ive seen several turbos blow up pulling, never seen a wheel come out the exhaust with or with out the bolts. i have seen chunks go through the steel housing and lodge in the hood. so dont realy see the need for them. but hey, its rules, some agree with them, most dont lol
most trubos are made to contain the wheel just incase something did ever happen, so the bolts really are there just for show
thats the way i see it. :tu:
