I am looking over the rules for the pull I am gonna enter and I have a few questions.

1.) The hitch opening has to be 3.750" all I can find is 3.000" pintle eyes, does anyone know where to get a bigger one?

2.) They say that the rear axle bolts must be covered by a cap or shield, what bolts are these exactly? I belive they mean the bolts that hold the axle to the wheel and not the diff cover bolts.

You will most likly have to fabricate or get the hitch made you can purchase them but they aint cheap.

Yes axle bolts not diferential bolts.

What class you looking to pull in?

sence i went to the 35" tires i had to change hitches so i have a 2" standard drop hitch 1" ball hole with a large shackel is fine but have to turn hitch up on side and drill a new pin hole because shackle opening has to be horizontal to the ground and it would be vertical it not drilled (where pin goes through at the truck hitch end of reciver) send me a link to the rules you are lookin at

Here is how most organizations rules read:


Hitch: The hitch must be a receiver-style hitch; reinforcements are permitted. Reinforcements
must not extend forward of the centerline of the rear axle. Trick hitches are prohibited. The
hooking point must be the rear-most point on the vehicle
and must be rearward of the stock location of the tailgate. The hitch must be horizontal to the
ground and stationary in all directions. Bumpers may be notched or removed. The hitch’s height
from the ground may not exceed 26 inches on 4wd units and 30 inches on 2wd units. The
hooking point must have a minimum 3.750-inch inside diameter opening for the sled hook.
The hooking point will be measured to the center of the clevis loop.

Wow - expert advice. :c:

I am getting ready for the Landcaster pull. I am going to be pulling in the work stock class. First one ya know, so I gotta see whats its all about. I was told that the 3" ring would be fine, but I am gonna make the right size one. Its hard for me to see, but it looks like your eye is more oval than circle. I am guessing that, that is ok, would make it a lot easyier to fab up.

And as for the 3.75" rule alot of guys are tourching out the 3" rings to make them bigger.

And here is why, the little saftey nub on some hooks make it a pain in the ass to unhook the hook.

Ashley your hitch must also be stationary. On its side like that it wont be, you really need to just fab one up.

that blue burnt out hitch looks dangerous, i seen a guy staighten his clevis at pull here...that would be wild to come unhooked from a sled with a wheel speed of 40 and an actual of about 10

I've seen worse. :D

And I have come unhooked from a sled... Its was a wild ride and my truck really is not all that crazy. :D
