I agree.
It looked better as a blue Ford instead of trying to make it look like his Dodge.

Hey guy's just saw this, below is a cut and paste from my respons over at TDR in relation to the body. I will add that the blue body is still there its just wrapped with vynil a company called bus wraps did it for me no paint :)

Thanks guy’s, I know, I know, its still got a Ford body.

My original intentions were to replace the body right away with a late model 3rd generation Dodge body and call it BigBadDodge II, I made that decision before actually seeing the truck in person and when I drove to WPE in February to pick up the truck, I was awe struck at the detail and labor that must have went into putting the body on. I knew instantly that I didn’t have the funds or time (had to rebuild the wife’s kitchen this past winter) to dedicate to doing it right. We also had to purchase lots of other things when switch to this level of performance i.e. I used to drive the BigBadDodge around the pits, over the scales, and on and off the trailer. Not so with this beast so we purchased a Kawasaki Mule (diesel of course) as a pit vehicle to tow the truck around and get around it the pits. add to that towing and winching equipment, fuel and water mixing equipment and containers, lots of oil and filters, portable generator and battery charger, weight (lead), Vinyl body wrap, new tow vehicle as I wasn’t comfortable the short box single wheel Chevy would do so good with the added weight etc…..Damn this stuff adds up quick so for timing and financial reasons I decided to postpone replacing the body until the 2008 season. I will give a holler out to my fine sponsors who with out I would have been done sled pulling years ago. Its nice to see diesel performance parts manufacturers, shops, and vendors helping out us who choose to play

Racin, yes and thank you for the info on GTS, I talked with them and all they could do was a front extended end, and they said it might work with this wheelbase but it would require a lot of modifying to the rear wheel opening, and to get the hood, and doors operational. I am not a fiberglass guy but am pretty fare when working with steel, so I am going to go with a steel body just because it will be easier to work on. The weight of the body isn’t as crucial for me as it would be for you drag racers, in fact I had to go buy 1,700lbs in lead bricks this week, and it is priced like gold bricks these days. If I went with a glass body I would need more lead what’s the advantage, Drag racers want to be light as possible, and us sled pullers need to be as close as possible to the max weight for any given class. Which out here it is 8,500lbs in the mod class, but I will staying at the DHRA requirement of 8,000lbs.

I do have a couple of “C” logos to go were the stock badges went on the sides and on the tailgate.

I will be at the TDR May Madness event in Pahrump, NV on May 4th and then the DHRA West Coast Nationals event in Las Vegas on the 5th and 6th

Regards,

BBD
