Hauling John deeres
 

Anybody got any pics of you towing your farm tractors. I'm gonna be towing my dads restored 720 ponystart diesel and a 620 to a show this year. Not sure if it'll be too much weight?

That will be very very heavy.... i haul a 1958 520 and a 1949 D and it's quite a load.

together they weigh 14,350 + the trailer so i'm guessing in the 18,000 range.

the 520 is super loaded with weights and fluid.
the D comes in at 6,580.

As long as your trailer is heavy enough to haul them together, or you can haul one at a time, either way just watch how you load them to try and balance it the best you can. But yea, your probably going to be looking at close to 14k or more even, just for the tractors together plus the trailer.

from my experience with tractor pulling 10 times throught out the summer its best to hual one. everytime i hualed a farmall h with 1500 pounds of weights and a m with 2700 pounds of weight dot always stopped me:argh:

The truck will pull it, I can promise ya that. There is a few variables here though. I pull damn near 30,000 pounds worth of hay and trailer. The trick is that the trailer is a triple axle 40 foot. The trailer is carrying much more of the weight on a triple axle then it is on a dual axle. The truck is just pulling weight and not carrying so much.

The other question here is your gearing, on the truck. Is it a 6 speed tranny or an auto, and what differential gears yer running.

And finally the distance yer gonna haul and the terrain. Are we talkin about a long haul across state, or over to the county fairgrounds. Level highway or through the mountains.

Personally, I wouldn't push an auto tranny much past the factory specs but those manual trannies will handle anything.
