Favorite Brake Controller

What is your favorite trailer brake controller?

I use the Brakesmart myself. Have been for about five years now with no hassle. Love it so much I have one in every truck. They are expensive though, and I hear Maxbrake is as good for less coin.

Both Maxbrake and Brakesmart are over $300. Very sweet though.

You really can't beat the added features of these brake controllers though, not to mention the smoothness of them. I know the Brakesmart will control up to three axles, as well as electric over hydraulic brakes. Don't know what your budget is, but I wouldn't skimp on safety.

I've sold a good many brake controllers, and yes if your pullin for a livin or have the money burnin a hole in yer pocket the Brakesmart and a couple other brands that are basically the same thing are great controllers. They also have a pretty good learning curve to em also. Personally I always recommend the Teckonsha Prodigy controller. It's less then half the price, simple to use, will control up to 3 axles including electric/hydraulic brakes and it can be mounted in almost any position in the truck except maybe upside down. Best of all, for any where near the money it is the best proportional controller out there on the market.

I went with a Prodigy. :U:

I only pull my 5th wheel, two other trailers and a deck over. All under 10,000 gross.

The Prodigy has worked well with all of them.

Please clarify... what do you mean by "and even though I never tow I have to say my stocker"?

Thanks

I have the Tekonsha Primus, good brake control at a good price. I think I only paid about $125ish for it a few years ago.
