fender clearence

ok i posted this on another site but didnt get any responses

ok i bought a trailer that i am rebuilding, it has torsion beam axles
how much room do i need to leave between the top of the tires and the fenders, cause i want to make them as low as possible to be easier to drive over

i was thinking i could set a 2x on top of the tires and rest the fenders on that, but i have no idea how far a torsion beam axle moves

---------

loaded my jeep and the deck drop 3/4" in relation to the top of the tire
so im going to set a 2x4 on top of the tires and go from there

unless someone knows better

Derek...I would measure the essentric and add 2" to it for clearence

2" sounds like a good guess to me. I would either find a trailer with axles like yours and see what there clearence is or leave room for modification to yours in case you need more room you can give it to yourself.

it won't move more than 3.5 " the most, have 2, 1, 2 axel 1, 3axel , will upload picks and post link

Feel free to add a for sale note in you signature for the trailer. That way when you respond to any threads your add follows you.
