Anyone know where to put my CTD to work?

Hey guys,I been hauling trailers for a couple years now,and it was great to start, but $1.05/mile when fuel was $2.25 a gallon is a little better than $1.20/mile when fuel is $4.60 a gallon.
Anyone know where I can get a rate somewhere near what hauling is worth?
I hate to go back over the road,or take a pay cut at a welding shop, but I dunno what to do..
Anyone point me in a direction?

I'd like to get into that! But fuel is too $$$. I talked to Forest river here in Ca and they told me a $1.35 a mile, Carson trailer told me $1.30. But with fuel @ $5.00+ a gallon out here! Doesn't seem worth it?

I'd haul them for that,if there was a guaranteed back haul, but I won't do em' at all for $1.20 a mile anymore,I could work at McDonald's and make more money.
They SHOULD pay $2/mile in the states and $2.50-3 a mile to Canada...but unless we make them pay they won't.
I'm hoping someone here knows how to make a living,I was doing great, when fuel was reasonable, but now I've got more bills than I've got income,it's about to turn ugly.

Carson trailers have the aerodynamics of a brick, and they are kinda heavy...for that kinda money.
My advice, wait till they have to pay more!

If you had a back haul set up, then it would be awesome money! I looked into the insurance portion of it last week and the insurance company flaked on me, no return call! Forest river wanted 80k cargo insurance coverage.

If you didn't have to take into account insurance or logs or anything like that, it would be good money, but with all that stuff, I don't see it paying off until the rate gets closer to $2.50/3.00 per mile.
