Take a look at my truck, what wheel should I go with?

I have the Carli Backcountry, also with the control arms and full leaf pack. The 315/70/R17's you see, to me, are just to small and are tucked too far to the inside (stock wheel backspacing to high).
I'd like to fill more of the space created by the big bushwhacker fender flares, but I'm having a tough time finding the correct wheel. I'm going to go with the toyo m/t 37x13.50/r17, so 17's it is. I've been told a 17x9 with a 5 3/4 backspace will fit the bill, but no one can show me a wheel. There are a ton of 17x8, 8 1/2 and 9's with 4 1/2, 4 3/4, 5 in. backspacing, but how far out is that going to put the tires in my situation and how many problems is that going to create? Is that difference between the 5 3/4 recommended, and the 4 3/4 that I can find really that big of a difference when on the truck? Please help! Thanks. -Lucky13Sgt |
I agree... The stock wheels arent gonna cut it for your lift

We run our Carli trucks all the time on stock rims and 37's. The 13.50 will fit it perfectly, however your fender flares will cover up the entire tread, which may give it that "sucked in " look
If you keep the flares I say a 4.75-5" backspacing would be ideal. Let me know if you want pictures I've got alot of with Carli and 37's:tu: |

Have you had any front end problems? Have you had to change out gears (go from 3:73 to 4:88's)? How's your transmission doing, is it still stock? Thanks, Lucky |

:hellox: I'd love to see some pics! What are you doing with your Carli equipped trucks? Why don't you change out the stock wheels, don't you get a lot of rubbing (at full left/right torque) on the inside control arms b/c of the 6 1/2 inch backspacing?

The Toyo will grab the fender. See pictures. As for the front end it was built proof but I spent alot of money doing it. I had Thurens full cross over steering, Carli axle truss, Carli ball joints and BD box brace. I went through alot of steering components before that major upgrade. I ran 4:10's with Smarty and never needed anything else. I put a BD trans in it just because the stocker couldn't handle it. If you want to see any videos of my white truck just google Strapt Performance.. Here is some pictures and real world examples Attachment 38448 This truck has 5.25" of back spacing and you can see what he trimmed, but he doesnt rub the control arms. Attachment 38449 Attachment 38450 Attachment 38451 As you can see if run less then 5.25" of back spacing you may need to trim more. |
Fuel Krank Black's would look sweet on that truck and i think they have some good offsets
