control arms
 

any one know where i can get adjustible control arms ? I have seen then for as much as $900 that is a little much if ya ask me . on a budget 2 1/2 leveling kit

Why adjustable?

You can get away with stock control arms with a 2.5" kit. It doesnt hurt to get some after market ones. You dont really need adjustables unless you plan on going higher one day.

some people that i have talked to said that they would put the axel back where it belongs. I am not going any taller it rides rough enough now, with no load dont want to make it any worse , besides I dont want to deal with getting a modified sticker here .

That's correct. Even with just 2" lift and the lower eccentrics full forward, the axle will be pulled towards the rear and some tucks may not be able to achieve correct caster alignment depending on the type of ball joints installed. I just installed a set of Thuren's arms and can't say enough good about them. You can see the difference in where the axle sits in the before/after shots:

Huge difference. Truck finally handles and steers as it should. I would view any adjustables as just something else to come loose and break.

I dont think that thuren's makes them for my truck .

No, starting at 2003. But the point being you really should install proper length arms to maintain the correct front end geometry wherever you get them from, for any lift. The front ends on these trucks work great, but only when they are properly maintained.

To this I would say, no, it really "helps" quite a bit:

my truck drives kinda funny, at first i thought it might be ball joints , not that well then wheel bearing , not that eather ,replaced all front tie rodends, draglinks , even had track bar checked when i put new tires on everything was good. :argh::argh:
