Calling all Cummins leveled with 35's

Hey guys I really need a couple questions answered here...

Can I run a 12.5 wide tire on an 8inch wide rim without any troubles?

The bolt pattern on my 2005 2500 cummins would be 8x6.5 correct ?

Do you guys think that a 17x8'' wheel, Backspacing 4.5 Offset 0.00 Would rub with 35x12.5 bfg MT's?

And will this wheel give me a wide stance with the 4.5 backspacing ?

Thanks alot need answer quick i have a chance to buy a set of wheels at a very good price!!

i've got 35x12.50's on my truck right now with just a leveling kit. theyre on eagle alloy 17x9's with 4.5" of backspacing and -11 mm offset. they come extremely close to rubbing but i clear them. 8" wide rims might be a little skinny for the 12.50's. i really like the stance, i dont really care for the stuffed look for the wheel wells, thats why i picked up my 4.5" lift today. but to each his own

my truck has kore "leveling" kit and I run stock rims with bfg mt 35x12.5x17 with zero issues.

No, you need a negative offset in order for the wheels to stick out giving you the wide look. Mine are -12mm offset and 5" backspace and only stick out 2", backspacing doesn't affect the way wheels stick out at all.

My Wheel and tire specs are: Tires 275/60/R20, Wheels 20x10 5" Backspacing, -12mm offset.

Also running a tough country 2" leveling kit.

On a friends 03 3500 he had 315/70s on stock wheels with no lift for a while. They barely rubbed on the lower control arms. You should be perfectly fine :tu:

cumminspwrram59 07-21-2011 09:59 PM

i got 315 70 17's on my 05 with the stock rims and no leveling kit and i dont have no problems. my dads truck has a leveling kit with the same size tire and it only rubs at full lock either way.

quick question, is there a big advantage in a long are vs a short arm lift??:humm:

cummins95 07-23-2011 02:26 PM

long arm is "supposed" to ride much better. plus more articulation. we've got the rear end of my lift done, startin on the front tonight. i'll let ya guys know how it rides

a little more labor intensive too. gotta mount the new lover control arm brackets on the frame, cut the old ones off. and as im slowly figurin out, 16 year old bolts like to stay right where they're at. a combination of torches, cuttin wheels, air chisels, hammers n punches will get em out tho haha
idk how many times i've walked into the arms on the lift but my head is startin to hurt....

I've got a dually with nitto trail grappler 35*12.17's on it, stock wheels though 6", but I see no problem running a 8" wide wheel with a 12.50
