2.5" leveling kit

So I just picked up a leveling kit cheap from a buddy of mine. They're made by rough country and he pulled them off his dodge 1500 5.9l GAS? :humm: which I hope they fit my truck I didn't think they changed that much between the two models? Anyway, will I need to replace the stock shocks to mount these on the fronts they're 2.5" blocks?

Thanks everyone!

You'll need to get some 2-3'' lift shocks, I got some Bilsteins that are like butter.

X2 With 2.5 inches, lift shocks are not a bad idea. With just a 2 inch spacer you can get away with stock shocks.

Anyone know of a good average shock for cheap? I'm not even sure I'm going to keep the leveling kit but I want to see how it looks when it's on.

So I did go with the ranchos. Now does anyone know what size of a tire I can put on the truck with that 2.5" leveling kit without it rubbing out? I want to get some bigger rims like 17x10 or 18x10 depending on which ones I go with I do know that backspacing and offset are a crucial part. I like the look of the wider tires.

Love the ranchos BTW!

With a 2.5" kit you could run 35 x 12.50s with out any problems at all. A friend of mine has 35s with no lift at all and they rub on the lower control arms only at a full turn.
