another 19.5 question

ok well ive looked at other threads and have quite found the answers im wanting so here i go.

ok are there any direct bolt on alum 19.5s that i can run? i dont want to run steelies on the inside.

secondly if there are not any wheels that will work could i put longer studs on it to be able fit the extra thickness of the alum. wheels

I have them

Rickson wheel has direct bolt ups

I run the steel wheels but they have aluminum ones too

I use the liquid balance and no wheel weights

Rickson doesn't offer the aluminum rims anymore as far as I know. I have them on my truck and even loaded heavy, I've never had any issues so I don't know why they don't why they discontinued them.

For guys that don't haul over weighted they were the best option. A good compromise between the heavy rated tires and the heavy steel wheels. Aluminum is significantly lighter weight per corner then the steel ones.

each of my tire/wheel combo weighs in at 172 ea

rednekroper05 01-25-2011 09:49 PM

thats kinda my whole issue is the weight because forged alum rims should be able to handle the heaviest loads that I will ever put on it

aluminum has to be 3x the thickness as steel for the same strength

Yes, you CAN buy longer lug wheel studs and put them into your hubs. Google/bing search 'lug nuts' and several of those that sell lug nuts also sell the longer lug studs.

As far as running two alums on the rear, you would need to know the thickness of what you wanted to run to determine the stud length. There have been people who put two alums together in the rear, maybe someone who has them would let you know which wheels that will do that??? Not all alums can be faced together from what I have read.
