i cant decide on tire/wheel package

so im in need of new tires cause its starting to snow and im bald..i currently run 305/70r16 toyo m/t. the new sets i have in mind are (1) blemished procomp x-terrain radial 35/12.50 r17 on motometal mo951 black 17x9 -12mm $1477or (2) Blemished pro comp Mud terrains 315/75R16 with the same wheels 16x9 -12mm $1261 Question really is 16 or 17" wheel and Xterrain or Mud Terrain?

if ya dont mind spending the extra $200 id say the 1st package would be better because of the ground clearance.iv never driven in snow with mud terrain tires but my dad has & he hated it

i love my muds in the snow! they bite awesome and arent really that bad on ice...i mean how good can it get on ice? i would go with the xterrains!

his tires may have been bald i cant speak from expeirence in snow only snowed once since iv had truck wasnt enough for 4x4 & only driving i did in it was to go to end of my road for snowballfight

snow? guess i'm missing out here in Florida... :w2: haha, just kidding... I like my Toyo M/T's... Why not stick with a new set of them? just wondering :humm:

SmokiinRam 12-18-2010 12:45 AM

I wish i could get them again but theyre so expensive at les schwab they quoted like 1800 bucks just for the tires alone:nope: so im trying to find the closest thing to them

---AutoMerged DoublePost---

and I dont haveto worry about snow anymore im pretty sure its over now it was only like 2 inches anyways haha but with my tires now it feels like 6

dmaxtothemax 12-18-2010 07:47 AM

haha... bald tires suck all together in any conditions... :scare2:

I bought my wheels as a package through wheelzoneonline.com :tu: i think out of North Carolina... I saved a few hundred bucks even with the shipping... The guy that put my order together was very personal and knowledgable... He even tried to find me a better deal with packages in stock... worth a try...

My BFGoodrich a/t's and m/t's lasted forever, but cupped and were out of round quickly and they cost a lot too (won't buy again)... And my Mud Dogs where good off-road, but they wore very quick (won't buy again)...

Good luck man :c:

okay so Im not getting blems anymore.I dont want to end up with 4 really ugly tires soo i did more research and im pretty set on the Mickey Thompson Mtz Traditional Mud Terrains anyone try them?

bluedieselram 12-26-2010 07:35 AM

yes, they are really good in the mud, clay & pretty decent in sand.only reason i have baja claw now is looks & they preform basically the same

I used to run 37's Dick Chepeck bought them at Les swab. They were very good aggressive tires. Also try finding a Les Swab in a small town....my brother got his 40's for $900 cheaper by driving to a location 140 miles away
