Stock wheels/what tires?

I am going to be using my truck soon OTR "Over the Road" and wanted to get some advice on what size I could use to that would wear good and ride good but not be so small.
I know I should use an E rated tire, but with the stock wheels on my 2001.5 CTD what would be trhe biggest tire size I could run and still feel safe and sound putting 800 to 1000 miles a week on her?
I once ran 295x75x16 BFG a/t 's and they were D and wore well and rode great.
Could I go up from there in an E like a 315 or is my wheel only being a 16x8 (I think) not good for this kind of driving and that size of tire.
I want to stick to stock wheels but just get a full looking tire that fills up these huge fender wells.
Thanks in advance, because I know this has been asked before I 'm sure but I never have good luck using the search.....:tu:

Check into 285/75/16, they look pretty good on stock height/wheel trucks, and most all of them made in that size are E rated. It is supposed to be a metric equivilent to 33/11.50/16.

Might want to check width on your wheels my stockers were only 6 or 6.5 I cant remember for sure, but I bought 8'' wide rims to use with my 285/75R16. That setup works good:c:
