Has anyone softer the rear leafs?

Not gonna be using the truck to pull any trailer or load at all. Wondering if anyone has soften the rear leaf springs up with others. Its time for me to replace them and I wanna see if the ride can be a little bit smoother. Its on a 2001 Dodge Ram 2500. I just hate how it bounces all over the place on a normal road. Anyone got any suggestion on how to soften the ride up?

buy a car. haha just kidding, but throw a couple bags of cement mix or dead weight over the rear axle. it'll help by starting to make the leaf packs compress and stop that preload they need to start flexing.

Kore makes a mini pack that replaces the overload and it calms the ride a TON! Plus it still has the same carring capacity... Thats whats on my truck :tu:

I know I'm seven days late here, but have you tried a softer shock? I put an add-a-leaf on my truck and it was pretty cool with OEM shocks. Then I bumped up to a Rough Country nitrogen shock and it got REAL STIFF. A softer shock may take some of the harshness out of that ride.

i removed the overload spring on my truck. it leveled it out and allowed the suspension to actually work and transfer weight when i raced from a dig.

the downside is it made my payload go to crap but i don't care, my kidneys thank me....

A set of Bilstein shocks and Sulastic shackles in the rear will help alot. It doesn't make the truck become a car but it does enough to take that edge off to make these heavy duty trucks ride way better on the open highway and city streets.

What pressures do you keep your tires? I tend to keep my rears at the minimum when unloaded...
