shocks

i have an 04 f-250 psd. it's in need of some new shocks. i have gabiel max ride mono tube shocks on it with a life time warrenty. my problem is they only last about 3 months and i'm tired of changing them that often. they wear out/blow out and leak oil. i am looking for sugestions on better shocks and opinions. i spend alot of tmie off road as well as onroad

I bought Rough Country nitrogen shocks with my lift from Top Gun Customz. I've had them for over 2 years. I'm mostly on road, but I have been known to beat around in the desert, even launched it a time or two. The down side is that the nitrogen makes for a "firm" ride.

Not sure how they would handle or last on a Diesel but I had a set of Edelbrock Performer IAS Shocks on a 90 Chevy 1/2 ton I modified my shock mount a little to get the F-150 shocks to mount on the front (Summit Racing had them on sale at the time for about 1/2 the normal price, ordered them and decided I could make them work). Had a 4" lift on the Suspension and a couple on the body so I could run 35s:yeah:. Smoothest riding 4x4 I've ever drove or road in. Didn't get to off road much as every time I did something broke on it, rear end (10 bolt, 3.42 gears:td:), tranny (700R4:ouch:), brakes (these just sucked from the gitgo:humm:)...... I did do a lot of back roads and washed boarded gravel roads, along with all the farm work. I loved that truck but it Nickel and Dimed me to death:scare2:. I plan on trying to get a new set of IAS's for my Cummins now that I got the tires and stance I want on it...... I have way too many things I want for that truck:s:.

Pro-Comp or Rough Country. They may cost a little more, the nitrogens are stiffer than the oil charged, but they last!
