Kore HP on Dodge

Going to buy a Kore HP Series leveling kit with the rear spring packs. The roads around here are too damn rough for the stock Dodge suspension. Question is how hard is this kind of thing to install? The rear leafs are cake, I've done that kind of thing before. The coils however concern me. What is the procedure for replacing these? What tools do I need? How long would it take for a first timer with decent mechanical experience and good tools to get the job done?

Hey Gump,
Springs can be a bitch, but you can rent a spring compressor that makes the job a little easier. If you do use spring compressors, get two of them for extra safety.
When I pulled mine, I didn't have one but we managed to "massage" them out by using a couple floor jacks, several jack stands, and carefully dropping each side of the axle one at a time to get them each out. Had to disconnect brackets holding brake lines, and sway bar end links I believe. Get a buddy or two to help and you should be good to go. It took us a couple hours.

What holds the coils in the mounts? I haven't really looked at it yet, so I'm unsure. Sounds like an easy job.

basicly just weight hold's the coil's in.once the shock's are un-bolted the axle will drop enough to pull the coil

Wow, simple.

Got the lift all done today. Took about 9 hours for front and back, but I'm sure it would have taken 3 hours less if I had air tools and a coil compressor. Had to pull the tie rod, track bar, and loosen the control arm bolts for the axle to drop enough to "massage" the Kore springs in. The spring compressor I rented went on the inside of the coil, and wouldn't work with the aftermarket springs. The kit has high quality stuff, but the directions suck. It would be nice to have the pages hooked together so you aren't searching for what page matches what you're working on. Pictures would be a a huge help as well. Have to get cleaned up then go drive it to see how much it helped the ride. The directions also say it permits jumping the truck, but I'm going to hold off on that for awhile....

Looks good. Now you need some nice big wheels and tires to fill those wheel wells! Let us know how it rides. I'm considerig the Kore HP kit myself.

It rides excellent now. Like driving a half ton over bumps.
