Front end bottoms out 2007 Dodge 2500 6.7 cummins

I ve had this truck six months. Ive noticed occasionally the front end bottoms out like on speed bumps or the such. The truck has 49,000 miles on it. Is this common or do I need new shocks already?

They only have about 2ins of travel on the front in stock form. so its normal.

diesel pap 01-03-2010 03:26 PM

i have not had that problem yet.

does the front end keep bouncing after you cross the speed bump or such? If so then yes you need new shocks. Or go slower of the bumps.

No bouncy bouncy bottom and right back up

maybe look into getting a stiffer spring or a leveling kit.

shocks dont have anything to do with bottoming unless you are actually bottoming the shocks. they are used to control the springs. its just fluid flowing through valves to dampen the ride.
