Lift: 07 F250/350 Super Duty...??
 

A buddy of mine is looking at getting an '07 F250/350 pretty soon, he wants to lift it and clear 37" tires; but I'm only familiar with Dodge and Chevy suspension lifts.

I've seen quite a few TrailMaster and Fabtech lifts on the Fords and I've installed a TrailMaster on a GMC 1500 that seemed to work pretty good, came with Bilstein 5100 shocks so that was nice.

What suspension do you know about/recommend? Are trailing arms necessary for these? I see some of the nicer/taller Fabtech kits come with trailing arms for the front...

Fabtech is good. Not a great serious off road suspension but they work fine.


If he wants to spend money get a lift from ICON.


The longer arms are to push the front end back to square.....as you lift a coil sprung truck the axle rotates along the axis back towards the cab...the trailing arms are longer and allow the axle to stay in proper alignment.

I had a 6" Skyjacker on my 99 F250 and ran 36/14.50-16.5 TSL Radials with a lot of room to spare. 37's would have fit no problems. Friend of mine is running 37's on his F 250 with a 4" lift.

Just be clear about whatever you order, there are so many different spring combos from the factory between the 250's and 350's that the height of the lift will vary from truck to truck.

For example... we put a 4" lift on my buddies F350 crewcab. The lift included leaf springs for the rear. With the 4" springs in the rear on the truck, it has a humongous rake to it. We now have the 4" lift on the front with a 2.5" coil spacer on it, and it is still raked. :s:

I didn't know Icon existed, I'm a big fan of suspension systems in place of 'lift kits' as I've done a fair amount with some Thuren and Carli systems on the dodges. Thanks for the replies, looks like he'll be going with Icon, they're really not all that expensive, either, relative to the lift kits.

Thanks Skyd, I didn't know that, thought Carli just did dodges, my brother has a Carli setup on his CR dodge and LOVES it, it's actually his buddy that this thread is about so it won't be hard to sell him on a Carli system!

Lift is still for sale. Its my bf's truck. Its a 7 inch pro comp lift that cleared 37's when he bought it. Here is the truck with 35's with 22/12's

I would buy the Fabtech. They make all the cool stuff like the resevoir shocks and all that. Just my opinion. And for the average truck they work fine.
