Walmart told Rubbermade .... We dont think you understand .... we are going to pay x amount for anchor hocking glass or we will drop it from our store as well as the rubbermade products.

Rubbermade changed our process , laid 1/2 the people off and we were making a horrible product , the anchor hocking glass name went in the shitter , rubbermade dumped it back on its head ruined its name and reputation and they just filed bankruptcy .

Its called reverse auctioning , Lowes does it as well , why do you think a husky saw is $200 at lowes and $700 at a husky dealer ? and what are people doing ? they are buying the $200 ones and the real dealers are going belly up and the husky name is falling from grace.

Walmart wanted Goodyear Tires for x amount of $$$ , goodyear realizing the sheer mass of new sales ... made a product for that cost risking there good name to make a buck and it will cost them in the end because they are cutting down there own good year dealerships because the tires are $250 and more there and they are trashing there reputation

Thats unbelievable. Walmart is bad however you cut it.

Holy Crap, Bobby. Thank you. I was a little leary about those tires, but for the price (160.00 a piece at our Wally World) I was gonna do it. My truck was warming up to go get em and I ran across this thread. Phew. So now I'm off to the local tire guys for some BFG all terrains. :U:

Oh I believe it, but it doesn't make sense to me:(

If wal mart keeps treating manufactureres that way, then eventually, they will run out of vendors to sell to them.

It's a shame that for the good off all concerned, the vendors don't get together, tell wallmart to KMA, vaya con-don't le the door hit ya where the good Lord split ya-Dios, and see how long they last?

Without vendors and supplies, they have little to offer. They don't MAKE chit, they just resell it.

On the flip side, it makes me wonder how much markup is really in the manufacturing and resale process.

IF both sides, manufacturing and wal mart could be reasonable, maybe people could get a decent item at a decent price, and everyone stays gainfully employed.
