Needing some new tires
 

I am getting to the point where i am going to need some new tires here shortly.. the truck has Yokohama Geolander AT/S's on it now.. if they had as many miles on them as the guy said they did.. these tires didnt last worth a sh!t... might have 20k on them... I am going to a 35x12.50 17. I am looking at either these Mastercraft Courser C/T :

Which my dad had on his 97 F250 several times.. lasted about 40k hauling a Bobcat 337x which alone weighs almost 14k almost once a week...

OR...

I am looking at getting the Hankook DynaPro RT03 MTs which i had on my 94 k1500 and on my 04 f150... :

I do not like firestone tires... and i WILL NOT buy BFG tires..

I really want to find the old Dayton Timberline MTs, but you cannot find them anywhere.. i was told they dont make them anymore...

I cant speak for any of those brands tires. Why dont you like BFG'S just out of curiosity?

I just bought a set of Interco M-16's. Havent had a chance to drive it yet though (seeing as how I'm in Iraq). But I left my truck in my parents' control while I am gone. They have said that the road noise is not bad (they compalin more about the twins whining) and say that the tires dont have much resistance when coasting. Their max weight is more than the BFG A/T's that I had on there before and look mean as all get out. They are supposedly designed to be their first "meant to be on road" tire. I can't wait to get back and try them!!

Well, first you're kinda F'd here because even if you could find Dayton Timberline MT's, Dayton Tire is owned by a division of Bridgestone/Firestone...so you wouldn't want to piss in your own bowl of Corn Flakes by getting a set and I would feel bad if I helped you do that.

The Mastercrafts are Coopers...Mastercraft is a division of Cooper Tire & Rubber. Good tires if you have a dealer near you they are pretty decent.

As are the Cooper Discoverer STT...which is the same as a Toyo Open Country MT, from what I hear. Dunno for sure never checked into it.

Hankook and Kumho aren't bad either. If you have a dealer near you....

Alright well now I kindve feel like an idiot.. I didn't know firestone owned Dayton.. But I would still love to find a set only because a different friend had the timberlines on his 2500hd and they lasted almost 50k.. The reason I don't like firestones is becuase we put a set of firestone transforce at on my f350 work truck and they are bald right now with only 27k and all it hauls around are a couple lawn mowers.. And as far as bfgs I had a set on a 1/2 ton 2wd chevy and they lasted maybe 30k and I can't see spending that much for tires.. I have a wholesaler that sell us tires for the farm and we can get our truck tires through them.. I can get the CTs for about 155 for 35s and the same price for the hankook in a 315/70-17:humm:

i am running a set of toyo open country mt and they ride good quiet and all arounnd a good tire.pull good in the mud. a little pricey but they have lasted so it is worth it a little better than 1/2 tread and 35,000 miles:U:

buy some 16.5's and run these 37.5 X 12.5 R16.5 goodyear wrangler mt. I have about 10sets laying around.they are military OZ and will last a good while. Plus ill get rid of em cheap! All 75-95% tread remaining. If interested call me Kyle (940) 368 9642

Are u going to scheid texasaggie? A buddy of mine might be getting ahol of u about a set of those.. I would put them on my truck if I could fit 16.5s..

just out of curiosity what is your driving style like? BC it is not easy to compare tires by other people recomandations or experiences, there are alot of factors in tire wear, (maint, air pressure, rotating, towing ect.....) All of these can make a tire look good or very bad.
