level kit, 35 and 20 rim back spacing ?

I realy am interseted in know what is the back spacing and off set that i would need to run 20in wheels with 35" tires on an 2" level kit on a 06 4x4 dodge 2500 cummins. I see alot of people saying there running 20" with 35" but now is say there offset or back spacing. Some 4x4 shops are saying that i can't run them unless i have a lift. looking forward to everyones reply. Thanks

the stock wheels are fine to use, or even h2 wheels. iirc h2 wheels are 8.5 wide with a 5.5bs

I have noticed 4wheel drive shops often have people that aren't really very knowledgeable. you can fit 35's on just a leveling kit. I don't really see were the backspacing/offset would some in other than for trying to go lock to lock steering. If thats the case then you should be able to run close to stock on the spacing.

I disagree. You can fit 35" tires under a 2" leveling kit. It is all you need to fit that size of tire. I know several guys running 35" tires on a leveling kit. It is very possible. Now if you want to get bigger than that you will need a 3" or bigger lift to do that. You will be fine though if you just want to run a 2" LK with 35" tires.
