Depends on the individual tire, but their about 34.5" tall on average. So their just a hair shorter than 35s as 35s aint always 35" tall. Example here

Diesel Nut 06-10-2007 01:16 PM

31570R17's work out to be 34.4 tall, 12.4 wide.

GO OVRIT 06-10-2007 01:20 PM

315 is the width. 315milimeters The second number is a percetage that gives you the height. 315/75/16 means the sidewall hieght is 75% of 315 mm from the rim to the top of the tire. A 315/75/16 is comparable to a 35x12.50R16. A 315/70/17 is about the same for a 17" rim. Theres only a handful of tires that actually measure what they're called.

I take that back... The hankook MT's are only $10 less per tire than the toyo MT.... For that price difference, I would rather just go with the toyo MT.

ramfreak01 07-04-2007 08:04 PM

yea, hankooks were cheaper but have increased in price lately. go with the toyos, i've heard lots of good. hankooks seem to be a hit and miss

dieseljunkie 07-06-2007 09:08 PM

My dad had the Hankook ATS or something like that on his 04.5 3500 dually, and they lasted about 25k highway miles. He wasn't too happy with em.

I'll be putting Toyo's on after these BFG's wear out. I get better pricing on Toyo tires than I do on BFGs. Besides, Toyo builds a darned nice tire.

Nuttymopar 07-10-2007 02:20 PM

I have had my Toyo's, 315 x 70 x 17, E load range on for 11k now and still have tread left (maybe 15% gone). I do know that doing burnouts with them eats them up a lot faster then a A/T type of tire. You can tell by the marks they leave on the road. A/T will leave plenty of rubber but you can see the tread spaces on the road between the rubber whereas the Toyo's M/T just leave DARK BLACK MARKS on the road and no spacing between the treads. Back mudflap also has a lot more rubber on it compared to A/T tires. Harder to spin also, but truck still does it.
