What shocks are you guys running? Like them and Do they make a difference?

Hey guys, Im in the process of making my truck a DD. And needs some suspension work. The rear shocks are rotted gone, so i'm guessing the fronts are just as bad. I've never changed them but the ride never bothered me. The more I drive it the more it annoys me. My first question do the shocks really make a huge difference. I know on my bikes, and lighter cars the suspension is a huge deal, but with a 3/4 ton truck, huge coils and springs are new shocks really going to make a huge improvement in both ride and control? And second what are you guys running? I'm looking for a better ride quality and better control with out spending a fortune. And 3rd How hard is a shock swap on this rig? Can I do it with basic tools or is it worth the $$ to have someone else do it?

Thanks in advance.

i have Monroes on my Dodge (stock replacements from the parts store) and i have Trailblazer SSV's on my Ford.

yes replacing the shocks will make it handle better and ride better IMO.

it is something you can do in your driveway if you have the tools and time. shouldn't take more than an hour or 2. make sure you have some PB blaster or Kroil to break the factory bolts that are probly rusted up loose....

I run the stocker shockers but plan on the good ol blue and gold when the funds permit. Yes, there is a difference.

I've run most of the shocks out there and the Bilstein 5100's are it, end a the road, never run anything else now including the yellow Bilsteins.

Bilstein 5100s get my vote as well.
