Maxxis bighorns

Anyone have experience with them on a cummins? They seem like a decent tire to me for the price. I was thinking of a set of 305/70-17's on a set of 3rd gen steelies for my 2nd gen. Truck will be parked most of the week, just need something to get me into the mountains on the weekend. Or if anyone has a similar mud terrain around $200 a tire they would recommend, post up. :U:

i bought some 315/75/16 Nankang Mudstars and i love them. they cost me like $159 a tire from my tire guy..... i dono if they offer a 17" tire though but they are JUST like the Maxxis Buckshot Mudder

Welcome to Tireco!

I run them on the hunting truck. Work very well. Pretty noisy for a M/T. I dont know how they will hold up on the front under the weight though

That's really my main concern. I suppose if I rotate them regularly, it will improve the wear on them. Who knows. I'm still looking and not dead-set on them, but the price and Les Schwab's warranty seems hard to beat.

This is my third set of Maxxis Buckshot mudders and I love em , Bighorns just have closer tread in the middle. I'm also running 305/70/16. I have been getting about 65,000 miles out of em rotating every 3rd oil change. Dirt roads & Hwy... :ok1: Maxxis for me!!

my only interaction with them is ona buddy's dmax. they seemed to where faster than i thought normal....but who knows

I ran the buckshots and the wear was good. I liked the looks of the big horns better. If they make a 285 load range E I might consider them

They wear fine in my 1500 hunting truck. They do make more road noise then the buckshots.
