Best wheel size for a lifted Ford F-350

Hey guys I have a 1999 Ford F-350 7.3L Crew Cab short bed with a 6.5" lift kit on it.

Currently I'm running 17" wheels with 35" tires.

I like the 35" tire height and want to keep that.

I'm just wondering what is the best wheel size for my truck?

I was thinking about running 20" wheels with 35" tires but I'm not sure if it's going to look good or preform properly.

Just trying to get some thoughts/opinions.

Thanks.

It'll be fine with 20's & 35's. The side wall is smaller therefore a bit stiffer of a ride. Im running a 22 on a 40" tire. I'd think w/ that Lift a 37" would look better, but than you run risk of speedo re-cal and Ideally should change gearing in Differentials. Google Images to find the look your after.

I have ran 17"s with 37's and they were to squishy on corners but great offroad. They were toyos. I also ran 37" BFGs on 18's that were ok. I am currenty running 37's fun county's on 20's and would say its the best combo yet. They handle good and ride nice still. If I was going down to 35's Id go back to an 18" wheel just for the ride quality. 18's do limit you on tire/wheel sizes tho. It really depends on what you are using the truck for but I am a fan of having a decent sidewall so they still ride good but so much they are folding over on corners

17" wheels seems to be the best bang-for-buck as far as tire price and size. My brother in-law went from 20's to 17's on his '05 for this reason. 17x9 can hold up to a 37x13.50 quite well.

17's are definatly cheaper but I like a 10" wide wheel which is near impossible to get in a 17. Just my preference. I spent many hours looking for a wheel and tire combo that I liked. I wish all wheels and tires were made in all sizes. I may have went with an 18" wheel had I been able to get a 37" none mud tire. I settled on my 20x10 -24 XD riots with 37x12.50 fun countrys and am pretty happy. Like I said before I would have went BFG AT KO if they were available in a 37 x 18 or 20. I put a lot of road miles on. My tires just stick out maybe 1 - 1.5"s, It looks good but isn't crazy hanging out past the fender. I have to wash my truck enough as it is. It really comes own to what you like and how much you want to spend.

I love my Copper AT/3's ... there great ride, quiet and handle the trails .. not a bogger but .. I'm impressed .. havent been stuck thus far .. Oh and snow ... not an issue .. ice traction is even fairly good ..( as good as traction on ice W/O studs can get )...:tu:

37 military tires if you like dealing with the 16.5s :P
