1/4 mile times
Just wondered what kinda times some of you are running in the .25$ mile. Went to the track for the first time 3 weeks ago and have fallen in love with the adrenaline rush you get when going head to head with some one at the light.... anyways... i only ran a 15.8. Though i think my transmission wasnt allowing me to go any faster (wasnt getting trough the gears like it should) and my bro ran a 14.8 in his standard 95 12v.
Let me know what you guys gals are coming up with???:choochoo: |
chances are your tranny had something to do with it, and also how you left the line..what was 60' time...that will tell you alot about your run
|
were you leaving up on the boost or flat footing it
|
13.4 with bad HG and injectors @ 7400lbs
|
i left both ways a couple times. had a little wheel slippage but it was mostly becuz of the TQ converter not locking up early enough. so id agree, had something to do with the tranny just going through gears but not as well as it should or locking up. and ill have to check my times. dont have the paper here with me at the moment.

12.44@109 is my current best 7k lbs at 5k' elevation
|
SLOW. I'm still learning about the torque of a diesel engine. 3rd gear boost launches, didn't spin the tires but it sure smoked the clutch bad :ph:
|
12.92 with my setup. when I had stock turbo and injectors with the juice it ran 15.06. Have you tried a lock up switch? Just pull up to the line and turn the switch on it wont lock till 2nd gear.
|
Just ran Wednesday. 13.92 leavin at 18psi. Congratulations, you are now also hooked :U:

what was ur 60' |
1.84 was my '60. With no steering supports whatsoever  Just dropped the torsions all the way.

no sleeves?
18 psi is a hard lauch, i dont even launch with that much boost, i can but it hurts times cause my wheels will spin off the line |
Yeah thats my problem. I tend to push things to the limits till they break Lo L. It was the last run of the day and the addrenaline was gettin to me :hd: My previous run was 14.20 launchin around 12psi. But that intermittent fuel pressure problem reared its ugly face. It truly doesn't launch as hard as I was expecting. No wheel spin or hoping, just got up and went! The 1056 is a little more loose than I like but I think it favors the higher boost. We'll get sleeves here soon enough :ok1:

yeah, your truck should run a whole lot faster, get them sleeves
|
15.1 couldn't launch b/c i dont have traction bars yet and i have an open diff w/ 2wd. LoL. should be able to get fairly low into the 14's with a more drag strip friendly clutch, bars, and a detroit locker w/ either toyo proxes or slicks.. LoL. currently the truck doesn't stop wrapping the the axle til almost 1/8th mile

|
my bets is a 16.5 so far. long way to go

Last Time I Dragged my truck was last summer and did a 16.1@88MPH .131 R/T and 2.65 60' That was with just an EZ and my 100hp injectors and stock clutch. I was hoping to run it at truck fest with all my new mods but some electrical issues reared their head so I left my truck at home and spectated instead.
