You'll see 60ft and 330ft times drop guaranteed.

I would have to agree, this will not make the sport any less enjoyable for the fans or the drivers, 70% of the races the cars drop cylinders and arent at full power at 1000 ft mark anyhow so are we really missing anything?:humm:

If it was John Force there would of been alot of lookin at stuff they could change and might of even shut the series down.:madd:

Should put a sand trap at the end of the track instead IMO

Diesel-N-Dust 07-31-2008 08:48 PM

So how are they going to deal w/ the records?

MotorOilMcCall 08-01-2008 08:29 AM

They still have a 1000ft time on record for every race going back god knows how long, the only thing they won't be able to compare to is Trap Speeds, because those only used to be measured at the 1320ft mark. Norwalk put a big net at the end of the track, but if a car is doing 300+MPH, I personally don't think its gonna make a big difference. Sand could do some nasty stuff to the driver in there anyways, and there's always the environmental whacko's who complain that its not natural in that area. Either is concrete or asphalt, but they still drive don't they?

I didn't know they had a limit on the speed of the cars. That sucks, I guess it's kinda like restrictor plates in NASCAR. I think they oughta let them boys run wide damn open to the finish line and go as fast as they can. Like yall said, they all know the risks they're takin, so if they wanna do it......hell, let em do it. HAMMER DOWN!!!!!!!!!

01quadcab 08-03-2008 07:26 PM

they will be looking to add the feet back in but they want it to be safe first. a lot of the tracks they run at don't have the space to add to the shut down area. sand works but causes a lot of roll overs as most cars are not going straight at that point. top fuel and funny car are only ones who have short track. guess it's time they step motor size down to bring speeds down till cars can be made safer
