Just thought I would let ya'll laugh at my horrible welding skills... :D
Front trunnion pulled right out AFTER fudging up the receiver trying to weld it together... Attachment 39438 Carried it to a buddy with a little more skill and knowledge with weld builds AK's and he fixed it right up. All I need now is paint. Attachment 39439 Attachment 39440 Attachment 39441 |

Also hit it with a shot of flat black rustoleam until I have the time to finish smoothing the receiver, sand blast the whole thing, and duracoat it. Also need to strip the wood and re stain it. Gonna cut the Donkey Dick of the front hand guard and round it out. |

I built the gun from a Romy G demilled kit. The receiver needs to be replaced because its cut up to be legally imported (among other parts to make it 922r compliant) there are a few ways to do it, you can rivet the gun back together (factory), screw it (some people complain the screws come lose) or you can weld it (easy, fast, strong). I'm not a purest and this is a beater gun so welding it was my choice.
This is how the kit shows up... Attachment 39198 |

Try apexgunparts.com, or royaltigerimports.com. I'm sure there are plenty of other suppliers on the web as well.

full auto switchable still?
|
x2....i'm very intrigued. What is 922r compliant? is it a guideline to import full-auto weapons or what?

That's just what I've gathered from reading various articles, could be totally wrong. Anyway, check out Ak builder.com for pre-bent Ak receiver blanks, receiver flats, and tools and templates.:c:
