Muzzle Brake Effecivness

Holy crap!

Rather slanted "test" I'd like to see em compare the fat bastard to other muzzle brake's and flash suppressors instead of just a naked barrel...

Not to mention who says the ammo was not a heavy round vs a light one...

OK. So he damn near uses the barrel as a tent stake but not once does he pull the bolt and check the barrel for an obstruction?:humm:

I've only owned one rifle with a brake. A Weatherby Mark V Deluxe in .460 Weatherby Magnum (i was much more recoil-proof back then!). The 10-pound rifle generated over 100 ft-lbs of recoil (that Lapua is around 41). Weatherby says their brake reduced the .460 recoil by 55%. I don't know how accurate that statement is, but I can tell you it made a hell of a difference. Both in shove and in NOISE!. The brake made that rifle so insanely loud, I'd rather put up with the recoil!

This is pretty cool: RECOIL

I was not using it to compare anything but with and without a muzzle break.

All my 50 BMG have muzzle-brakes, also my 300 REMINGTON ULTRA MAG, & a 308 WINCHESTER, It does reduce recoil:yeah:

I can attest to it eliminating a huge amount of recoil on larger rounds, however i think the increase in muzzle blast you feel and the excess redirection of noise make them useless on anything other than the hardest hitting rounds.
