Any of y'all tried these?

1911 45ACP 7rd Mag Part #MAG04501

No clue on manufacturer.... I'm sure they wouldn't be 100% reliable but for $7 they might make decent range back ups....

RSWORDS 07-12-2011 11:42 PM

Found teh same ones on CTD for less then $6... i ordered 5 to try out... Wont be out to much. Now I need to order 5 or 6 good mags...

Got em in sat, have not had a chance to go shoot with them yet so no range report. Nothig jumps out as junk from a visual inspection I hope they shoot well.

1993firstgennewbie 07-27-2011 07:38 PM

i got some like that they suck i only like the wilson combats the nice kimber mags and the 2 that came with my rem r1 all of these have the follower bent into the mag the ones your looking at do not but for 6 bucks its hard to go wrong always remember you get what you pay for they may end up not even fitting i bought a PROMAG extened at the gun show a while ago and it didnt fit in any of my 1911s and it says 1911 right on it also llama mags are different as well

Mr. Miyagi 07-28-2011 02:54 PM

+3 or 4 or whatever for the Wilson Combats.

Used but-not-abused Mec-Gar are decent mags for the range, and for carry sometimes...but WC all the way.

RSWORDS 07-28-2011 07:10 PM

Have not even had a chance to get the gun out since I bought these... :argh:

Mr. Miyagi 07-28-2011 07:38 PM

I hear ya.....we finally look like a nice weekend is coming and my dumb ass gets into poison oak...which I'm allergic to besides the obvious issues...

argh

Chip McCormick Shooting Star 8rd Power Mags are what I'm running now...have been running Chip McCormick mags since the early 90's and like them better than Wilson...the gunsmith The Action Works who did the custom work on my Colt Govt recommended them and I've never been unhappy...

I've got about 37 places bookmarked to get mags, some give me a discoount with the 03 FFL and some have better sales...

Normally I just get em from Brownell's on sale with the discount...and free shipping...

Mr. Miyagi 07-28-2011 10:35 PM

My Wilsons are old and work, but I haven't tried CMC or Novak. Heard good things about both.

Only had one Wilson 47D and had a few feeding problems with it, traded it to a guy who had a Wilson customized Commander years ago....

If I ever find any 47D mags on sale at a decent price I'd like to get a couple & see how they work...

Plus I'm trying to buy a Boat and been back and forth on that because my OCD makes me research EVERYTHING I get involved in to the max. I know the boat I'm looking at inside and out.... :D

Mine are older, probably a decade or more, and honestly I have never ran them in a Springfield....people have said that something to do with the step on the catch or whatever that they'll be hit n miss on a gun like a TRP but I don't really know...only hearsay and whatever I read on the internet.

There's a local guy who shoots with me sometimes that has a TRP and will only use CMC mags because he said the Wilsons won't always allow the slide to catch back after the last round...??...claims he loves the mags but not in his TRP....only runs them in his Ed Brown, his Kimber(s), etc. FWIW he used one of mine and it worked fine---told me I have the oldie but goodie ones---I never knew there was a difference.

I run them in my 1911's without any issue at all but every gun has its own personality. I have changed the springs in all of them once because after awhile they started to refuse to feed the last round at times. New springs and all was well again.

I'd like to try a Novak mag but I'm one of those retarded people who can't switch when something is working because I think the other mags will get pissed and quit under protest if they see another girl in the bag....

Well, I tried that Centerfire Systems link and tried to order mags. Looks like US is the only option to ship. I sent them an email asking if they ship to Canada, and the reply I received had minimal effort in it's creation. "We don't", that's it. Not a name, not a reason why, just no. Doesn't make sense to me why they wouldn't, they are legal up here so why not make more money?

gunman41mag 08-04-2011 11:25 AM

Can't believe a business won't ship to Canada:s:

Quite a few won't ship to Canada & don't forget Canada is across the border so import/export rules also apply.

You would not believe the hoops I had to jump in to take a pistol/mags/ammo to Canada for a law aaenforcement only shoot.

RAW 08-05-2011 07:12 AM

After another round of emails, they finally told me their reasoning.

Mr. Williams,

A number of things, including keeping track of another set of laws, plus the
type of accounts we have with UPS.

Thank you,

Centerfire Systems

Magnus
Sounds like pretty lame excuses to me. I can buy 1911 mags in multiple places around here, without my firearms licence. It's not an illegal or restricted item at all. I bet it's not hard to get UPS to deliver to Canada.

As a private company they have the right to sell to who they want & ship to where they want...

Lame or not in your opinion they do not have to sell/ship to Canada....Canada is another country with it's own set of laws rules and regulations...and it's not unusual to find a company in one country not willing to ship cross boarders...it might just not make fiscal sense selling a few products for all the problems/headaches it generates...

I know multiple companies that will not ship to Canada as I'm sure you do also...

Shop around and find a company that does ship to Canada and buy from them...

RSWORDS 08-08-2011 04:41 PM

Just put 200+ rounds through these mags. Only issue is one mag wont lock the slide back after the last round, all the rest do. I marked the one mag and these will all make awesome range mags.
