rubberfish 10-06-2008 12:02 PM

Fuck. I have the urge to buy another knife. :) :rocking: :U:
What to buy? What to buy? What to buy? :humm:

Dr. Evil 10-06-2008 02:00 PM

Do you have a boker?

These babies are made from Solingen steel

MotorOilMcCall 10-06-2008 02:33 PM

So what kind of blades do all you guys prefer? Drop point, Tanto, Spear point, etc.

Personally I like the look and more so the strength the Tanto blade offers. Of course, it does depend on what I'm doing... I like a drop point for skinning a deer.

rubberfish 10-06-2008 03:24 PM

Had never even heard of Boker until just now.
That auto would get seized at the border. We'd have to
go pick that one up in person and slip it in a pocket. :w2:
I really liked the other three that you linked too. The last one
is a bit pricey though. A guy can pick up a "First Strike" from CRKT
for a lot less money. And the Tactical Tanto almost made me drool.

Hi MotorOilMcCal.:howdy: For me I prefer a folding spearpoint for an everyday carry.
Although nothing leaves as a big hole and says Fuck You like a Tactical Tanto. :rocking:

MotorOilMcCall 10-07-2008 08:52 AM

Hahaha... Like my big M16-14SF? The blade is 1/8" thick, if I'm lying I'm dying. I also have another M16-14, but I can't remember the last two letters. Its the spear point version. That one stays in the drivers side map pocket, or if I'm in a rough area, in my boot sheath open, of course, the Glock is the first line of defense in that situation, but it feels good to be armed. lol

rubberfish 10-11-2008 10:33 AM

I've got the M16-03Z. :U:
I'm planning on getting the M16-14Z soon.

Doc. I spent a bit of time looking at Boker's.
They make some nice shit too eh? :U:
Do you own any, like them?

Dr. Evil 10-11-2008 11:00 AM

No - I dont have any Bokers - but they are supposed to be tough as nails and hold an edge really good.

LarryJewell 10-13-2008 04:42 PM

A few weeks has gone by and as usual, I've bought
another knife. A Sog Vulcan-VG-10 San Mai.
Spent a bit of time touching up the edge to my
liking and presto. Super Fucking Sharp. Very nice.
One of the quietest knives I own too. Can hardly hear it open.

MotorOilMcCall 11-03-2008 11:01 AM

Sharp looking knife, how does that thumb lockback work? Looks like it'd be awkward to close.

gunman41mag 11-03-2008 11:34 AM

I have sold most of my knife collection, But I still kept my BENCHMADE and KABAR NEXT GENERATION FIGHTER, the benchmade is a folder,to cut seatbelts, rope,a working mam knife, kabar is a fixed blade knife, to stop DEMOCRATS THUGS from hurting me, will not use the KABAR for anything else, only for the reason stated above !!!!

It's only awkward the first few tries.
After that it's easy as all hell to operate.
Check on YouTube for video of them. You'll see.
I've got a few of their knives with that lock on it.

It's been a while but here's a couple more
that I picked up. They're both like brand new.
Gallagher Badger
This is a pretty small knife. I don't know what you'd
use it for. Although it'd pierce just about anything I think,
and it's one fast assed opening knife.
And this one is the one I really wanted.
Long story short, I had to buy both of them.

Captain Call 07-01-2011 11:47 PM

Old thread. Oh well I'll play. Moore Maker stockman knife is my carry since I gave my Solingen away that I found when I was a kid. I also don't leave home without my leatherman. As far as sharpening, I either use the spyderco sticks or a stone. After that I strop the blades.

Ramprat 07-02-2011 10:47 AM

Lately a Spyderco Police, or a Spyderco Endura, or a Emerson PSARK or a Emerson CQC-7 or possibly a Buck/Strider Tarani......but more often than not the Spyderco Police...

Speacking of Spyderco...might need to make a trip down to Golden and check out the discounted sales case :choochoo::choochoo:
