Barretta NEOS is a nice option for 22 also

Haven't bought anything yet, but still taking in all the info. Looks like I'm going to have to look into buying them from a gun shop. Individual sales are few a far between nowadays.

I agree with dodgehunter84 on the "hi-point" for sure, but also stay away from "star", "Astra", kel-tec", "phoenix arms", "jemenez arms", "davis", and "stoddard arms". There are a few others I cant think of right now. You will get what you pay for with these "items" (not even good enough to call them guns). You'll be lucky if they dont fall apart during use, blow out sideways tearing up your hand, or blow up in your face. Ive actually seen the slide literally fly off a kel-tec while being fired. It was brand new- out of the box. The 4th round sent it flying. Now thats quality folks!!!:td:

Ditto the KelTec comment. I had one that I bought back in 2001. It had a steel takedown pin, but was a little under-diameter, I guess, and one fine day, it worked its way out sideways, and just like^^^ that guy said, the whole upper half cycled backwards, lost the pin, and then tried to chase the last round downrange! Glad I was at an indoor place on nice (reasonably clean) concrete. Recovered the barrel, slide, guiderod (nylon) drive spring and takedown pin. I don't have that one any more. I don't miss it, either.

Thats a hell of a way to get up close and personal with a concrete floor! Good for you for getting rid of it. Its always good to do in-depth research on any firearm before buying it IMHO. :c:

Did some trading around on some parts I had, ended up with a brand new mossberg 500 12 guage. What are your guys thoughts on this scatter gun?

Bigg Redd 03-12-2013 10:12 PM

Thats a good gun. I have one and Ive put thousands of rounds through it with no issues.:tu:

Well, in 2001, I don't think there was much depth to learn anything about the P-32 at the time. And, it was surprisingly accurate for having a 2" barrel and just a pointy-angle for a front sight

I hear ya bro. I spent alot of years as a Firearms Instructor, Rangemaster, and Armorer when I was a POPO. I had the luxury of calling any gun manufacturer and asking for a test-piece for "testing and study" and "possible bulk purchase" if they met with my approval. I got to play with lots and lots of handguns, rifles, and shotguns through the years. Im certainly no stranger to in-depth research and scrutiny. Ya gotta do whatcha gotta do.....:pca1:
